Puppies are normally vaccinated once every 4 weeks, starting between 6 & 8 weeks of age and continuing until your pet is at least 16 weeks of age.When your puppy was born it received some protection from disease from it's mother. As your pet matures this protection slowly goes away and the vaccinations that your pet receives replaces this protection by encouraging your pet's own immune system to produce antibodies that will protect it from disease.
The same shots will be repeated several times to teach your pet's immune system to protect your pet. The younger the pet is, the more often the immune system will need to be reminded to create the antibodies.
Adult dogs who have not received vaccinations annually or without known vaccination histories will follow the initial vaccination series for dogs over 6 months of age.
Please remember, your pet is not fully protected until 10 days after the last set of vaccinations!

Sometimes life gets busy or a holiday affects your vaccine schedule. If your pet misses a single set of vaccines simply start the vaccine series again at the current age of your puppy.
If life becomes really crazy and several sets were missed or separated by more than 6 weeks please discuss what vaccines were given and the dates of those vaccines with our staff and we will assist you in determining what additional vaccines are needed.
